• California Mudslides: Death Toll Rises To 20, 4 Still Missing

    (CNN) — At least 20 people have died as a result of the mudslides that devastated Montecito, California, according to the California Department of Fire and Forestry Protection.
    The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that 30-year-old Pinit Sutthithepa had been found dead on Saturday. Four people, ranging in age from 2 to 53, remain missing.

  • CAIR Condemns Hate Literature Distributed To Maryland Homes

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says Islamophobic and homophobic hate literature is being distributed to Maryland homes.
    CAIR, along with the Montgomery County Civil Rights Coalition, condemned the cartoon-like literature.
    The literature, titled “Camel’s in the Tent,” is distributed by Chick Publications, and CAIR reports the same literature was distributed last year in Maine.

  • Plane Dangles Off Cliff After Skidding Off Runway In Turkey

    ISTANBUL (AP) — A commercial plane that skidded off a runway after landing in northern Turkey dangled precariously off a muddy cliff with its nose only a few feet from the sea.
    Some of the 168 people on board the Boeing 737-800 described it as a “miracle” that everyone was evacuated safely.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A local Walmart has been evacuated after a threat was made to the store Sunday.
    The Harford County Sheriff’s Office confirms a threat was made to the Fallston Walmart, though they do not believe the threat is credible.
    The store was evacuated as a precaution.
    The investigation is still ongoing.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing 12-year-old girl.
    Makyra Washington was last seen at 1 a.m. Sunday, in the 500 block of Half Mile Court.

  • Baltimore Teacher Missing Since December Found Dead

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore City Police say an eighth-grade teacher who was last seen just days after Christmas has been found dead.
    Gregory Ferrell, who was a teacher at Monarch Academy in northeast Baltimore, was found dead inside his car in the 1900 block of West Baltimore Street around 4 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
