    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A woman is accused of carjacking after she allegedly climbed through the open passenger window of a car in the area of Water Street and East South Street.
    The Frederick Police Department says Deirdre D. Dean, 48, asked the victim to drive her to Baltimore on Jan. 11.
    According to authorities, the victim refused, and instead drove to the 300 block of East Patrick Street, where she exited the car. Dean then drove off.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Baltimore Ravens safety Tony Jefferson has listed his Timonium home for sale, after purchasing it last April.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — James Calero, 31, plead guilty to one count of criminally negligent manslaughter for the December 2015 crash that killed Morgan State Student Adedire Ososanya.
    According to authorities, on December 17, 2015 Calero was driving south on Route 202 when he crossed the center line and struck Ososanya’s vehicle. Ososanya was ejected from the car and died as a result of his injuries.

    Authorities say Terrell Demonte Alexander, 18, from Lanham, Maryland has been charged for racially-charged writings in a men’s bathroom stall in October and November.

    Detectives say Gregory Ferrell, 56, has been missing since December 29. He is a teacher at Monarch Academy and was last seen in East Baltimore at Club Melba’s.

  • Maryland Lawmakers Override Governor’s Paid Sick Leave Veto

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland businesses with 15 or more employees will be required to provide up to five days of earned paid sick leave.
    The Maryland Senate voted 30-17 to override Gov. Larry Hogan’s veto on Friday. That’s one vote more than the 29, or three-fifths vote, needed. The House voted to override the veto on Thursday.
    An employee will be able to earn an hour of sick leave for every 30 hours they work.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– A Georgia man was arrested at BWI Thursday for attempting to bring a loaded handgun through TSA security.
    TSA officials say the man had a .380 caliber gun loaded with eight bullets in his carry-on bag. The gun was spotted in the TSA checkpoint x-ray machine.This is the first gun that has been recovered at BWI this year, authorities say.

    LONDON (AP) — A British butcher who got locked in a freezer says he was saved by a frozen sausage that he used as a battering ram.
    Chris McCabe says he became trapped in the walk-in freezer at his shop in Totnes, southwest England, last month when wind blew the door shut. The safety button to open the door had frozen in the -20 C (-4 F) chill.

    BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — Police say a man broke into an apartment in southern Michigan and attacked the mother of his 13-year-old child with a sword.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — An arrest has been made in Thursday’s stabbing at Central High School in Prince George’s County.
