    NEW YORK (AP) — The blast of Arctic air that engulfed portions of the East Coast has broken cold temperature records in several cities — although a warm up is just around the corner.

    ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The Miss America organization is raising the maximum age of contestants from 24 to 25.

  • Firefighter Hospitalized After Morning Fire

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A firefighter was treated for cardiac related issues after helping put out a fire in Joppa Sunday morning.
    The fire was at a home in the 300 block of Avedon Court.
    Responding crews arrived to find smoke showing from the one-story home.
    One firefighter was transported for cardiac issues, but fire crews were able to get the flames under control. The firefighter’s condition has not been released.
    No further details have been released at this point.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore’s mayor says repairs are being expedited at city schools in hopes of resuming classes Monday after freezing conditions inside classrooms forced closures this week.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Record-breaking cold will blast Maryland overnight as temperatures will teeter near zero degrees.
