  • Hotel Staff Interacted With Las Vegas Shooter More Than 10 Times Before Massacre

    (CNN) — Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino staff interacted with Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock more than 10 times in the days leading up to the Oct. 1 massacre that claimed 58 lives.
    During Paddock’s stay at the hotel, room service and housekeeping “had contact with Paddock or entered his suite more than 10 times,” according to a statement sent to CNN from MGM Resorts International, which owns the Nevada hotel.

    Legendary astronaut John Young, who walked on the moon and later commanded the first space shuttle flight, has died, NASA said Saturday. Young was 87.
    The space agency said Young died Friday night at home in Houston following complications from pneumonia.
    NASA called Young one of its pioneers – the only agency astronaut to go into space as part of the Gemini, Apollo and space shuttle programs, and the first to fly into space six times. He was the ninth man to walk on the moon.

    WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in Florida are sharing an unusual 911 call they got on New Year’s Eve from a man who said he was driving drunk and needed police.

    NEW YORK (AP) — Donovan McNabb and Eric Davis have been dismissed from ESPN following an investigation into accusations of sexual misconduct while employed at NFL Network.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– City police are searching for a car and suspect after they say a man was shot in the head and killed while warming his car up Saturday.
    Baltimore officers say at 11:40 a.m., they responded to the 6100 block of Macbeth Drive, where they discovered a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head.
    Detectives say the victim was approached by the armed suspect, an altercation ensued, which led to the 22-year-old being shot in the head.

  • Police Recover Loaded Gun, Drugs From 2 Baltimore Men

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Police arrested two men Friday night who had drugs and a loaded gun, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
    Officers said they arrested Eric Walker, 20, and Dominic Word, 18, in the 2100 hundred block Orleans Street around 7 p.m. Detectives recovered a loaded handgun from Walker and drugs from Word.Both were taken to Central Booking where they have been charged with handgun and drug violations.

    SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Trump administration has proposed spending $18 billion over 10 years to significantly extend the border wall with Mexico, providing one of its most detailed blueprints of how the president hopes to carry out a signature campaign pledge.

    DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — One Mega Millions ticket matched all six numbers and will claim a $450 million grand prize.

  • Firefighter Seriously Injured In Baltimore House Fire

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A firefighter has been seriously injured while putting out a house fire in Baltimore Friday night.
    The Baltimore City Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 800 block of Wilhelm St around 5:30 p.m.
    Crews found flames on the first and second floor of the home, and were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
    One firefighter was taken to a hospital with “serious injures,” according to the department.

    LA PLATA, Md. (AP) — A teachers’ aide and track coach described as a “predator” by a county prosecutor in southern Maryland has pleaded guilty to more than two dozen child sex abuse charges.
    The Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office says 30-year-old Carlos Deangelo Bell entered the plea Friday. His trial on more than 200 child abuse offenses had been set to begin Monday.

    ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — An official in the federal government’s effort to treat people with AIDS has been indicted on a charge of sexual solicitation of a minor.
    The Washington Post reports that a grand jury in Montgomery County, Maryland, returned the indictment Thursday against 56-year-old Michael Goldrosen of Silver Spring.

  • Court Strikes Down Baltimore Law On Pregnancy Centers

    A federal appeals court has struck down a Baltimore law that required an anti-abortion pregnancy counseling center to post disclaimers in its waiting room.
    The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday that the law violates the First Amendment rights of the Greater Baltimore Center for Pregnancy Concerns, a nonprofit Christian organization that counsels women on alternatives to abortion.
