    SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County Police say a shooting death in Silver Spring is a homicide.
    The department said in a news release that officers responded to reports of gunshots Sunday night. Officers found an 18-year-old man outside with apparent gunshot wounds.
    No suspects were located during a search of the area.

  • Wind Advisory In Effect For Christmas, Causing Power Outages

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A wind advisory is in effect for the entire state on Christmas until 2 p.m.
    The wind advisory caused power outages across the state, with more than 10,000 being without power Monday morning, according to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency.
    Power has been restored to most of those affected by noon on Monday.

  • Pedestrian Critically Injured In Crash Over The Weekend

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police say a 33-year-old is in critical condition at a hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday.
    The auto-pedestrian crash happened just before 5:30 p.m., near Crain Hwy and Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Glen Burnie.
    Investigators found that the driver of a Chevrolet van went through a red light, and hit Crag L. Johnson.
    Johnson is said to have critical injuries, but is expected to survive.

  • Ravens-Bengals Week 17 Game Moved To 4:25 P.M.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — This week’s Ravens-Bengals game at M&T Bank Stadium has been moved from 1 p.m. to 4:25 p.m.
    The NFL announced the change Sunday night. All the games with AFC wild-card implications were moved to 4:25 p.m. to make sure that no team has an advantage by playing later in the day.
    The Buffalo-Miami, Jacksonville-Tennessee and Oakland-San Diego games will also all be at 4:25 p.m.

  • Woman Caught Carrying Baby Jesus Figurine Arrested For Theft

    WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) — A woman carrying a baby Jesus figurine that had gone missing from a Nativity scene at a park has been arrested for theft.
    Police in West Bend, Wisconsin, say an officer spotted a 21-year-old woman walking early Sunday with the figurine. When the officer attempted to stop and speak with her, she ran. The officer caught her and she was arrested on charges of theft and obstruction.

  • Man Shot And Killed On Christmas Eve In Baltimore

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 41-year-old man was fatally shot on Christmas Eve in Baltimore, police say.
    Officers were responding to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of S. Monastery Avenue around 7 p.m. when they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
    The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
    Baltimore City Police say detectives are investigating the incident.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Two Loudoun County sheriff’s deputies have been shot in Sterling, Virginia, authorities say.
    The shooting happened when deputies were responding to a “domestic incident” around 5:15 p.m. in the 46000 block of Hollow Mountain Place, according to the sheriff’s office.
    The deputies’ injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
    The sheriff’s office says a suspect is in custody.
