  • Officer Pleads Guilty To Stealing Drugs From Evidence Room

    ABERDEEN, Md. (AP) — An 18-year veteran with a Maryland police department has admitted to stealing heroin, cocaine and Fentanyl from the agency’s evidence room.
    The Office of the State Prosecutor said in a statement that 38-year-old Lt. Daniel Gosnell pleaded guilty Friday to misconduct in office and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Authorities say Gosnell, who is with the Aberdeen Police department, was sentenced to three years of probation and community service.

  • Police: Man Killed Girlfriend, Left Body In Susquehanna State Park Parking Lot

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) —An Aberdeen man has been charged with the murder of a woman after her body was found in a Susquehanna State Park parking lot.
    It was around 7:42 a.m. Thursday morning when Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the park for a report of an unconscious woman.
    When they got there, they realized she was dead. She has since been identified as 34-year-old Lauren Michelle Walls. Her cause of death will be released when an autopsy is completed.

    MADISON, Wis. (AP) — One of two Wisconsin girls who tried to kill a classmate to win favor with a fictional horror character named Slender Man has been sentenced to 25 years in a mental hospital, the maximum punishment possible.

    YORK, Neb. (AP) — An elderly couple who was arrested in Nebraska with 60 pounds of marijuana in their truck told officers that the drugs were meant to be Christmas presents.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) —Three Baltimore County officers got sick after being exposed to Fentanyl Thursday night, police say.
    Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent.The incident started with a traffic stop, during which narcotics were recovered.     BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Enrollment in Baltimore City schools is down to its lowest number in a decade with 1,700 fewer students this year.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 22-year-old man is in serious condition after being found shot in the chest in a stolen car Thursday, police say.
    Baltimore police found the man unconscious in a stolen Dodge Neon in the 1100 block of W. Lanvale Street around 5:10 p.m. Authorities say he had a stolen firearm in his lap.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The family of a 19-year-old Morgan State University sophomore says his killers need to be brought to justice.
