    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The body of Sister Cathy Cesnik was found in a ditch in January 1970 in Lansdowne. It was later learned that the Archbishop Keough High School teacher was about to blow the whistle on an elaborate sex ring involving priests and local police.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– On November 10, 1775, Congress established what would later be called the United States Marine Corps.
    Retired Marine Rob Jones lost both of his legs when he was bombed in Afghanistan. He had to learn how to walk again before he could run.
    Jones ran the first leg of the 26.2 mile marathon in Baltimore Friday, which began at Camden Yards. It’s his second to last of 31 marathons in 31 days.

    Ashanti Billie went missing from her job in Virginia in September and her body was found two weeks later.

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland man has admitted to killing his friend with a screwdriver after they were drinking together earlier this year.
    The Capital on Thursday reported that Santos Abel Diaz-Lemus, of Annapolis, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the June death of Fredy Roberto Lopez-Martinez.

    NEW YORK (AP) — Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman says she is among the young women abused by a former USA Gymnastics team doctor.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– If people in Anne Arundel County need a place to stay as temperatures become freezing Friday night, warming centers will be open.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– An undercover investigation revealed an alarming number of mock weapons were able to get pass TSA screeners.
    The Department of Homeland Security conducted the undercover investigation and said test weapons were able to get through security more than 70 percent of the time. That’s better than a 95 percent failure rate two years ago, but not good enough for some travelers at BWI.

    Authorities say an unknown suspect is believed to be responsible for robberies that occurred at two M&T Banks on October 30 and November 3.
    Officials say the suspect robbed the M&T Banks located at 8200 Harford Road and 8812 Waltham Woods Road.

    BALTIMORE (AP) — A federal agency is offering a $20,000 reward for information in the fatal shooting of an off-duty Washington police officer in Baltimore.
    Forty-year-old Tony Anthony Mason Jr. was found with gunshot wounds early Saturday. He and a woman were sitting in a parked car when they were shot. Mason died at a hospital; the woman suffered a gunshot wound to her leg.

  • Centenarian Dies After Being Hurt In Baltimore House Fire

    BALTIMORE (AP) — Authorities say a 106-year-old man has died of injuries suffered in a fire in his Baltimore home.
    Fire department officials tell local media that Lloyd Taylor was injured Sunday in a fire in his home near Coppin State University. He suffered second-degree burns to his hands, arms, and chest, and was taken to a hospital.
    Authorities say Taylor died Wednesday from respiratory failure caused by smoke inhalation.
    Officials say the blaze was caused by cooking.
