    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Two cases of tuberculosis (TB) have been confirmed at a Maryland high school.
    Health officials say the cases are at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Prince George’s County.

  • Maryland Man Shot 14 Times, Killed, At Crisfield Apartment Complex

    CRISFIELD, Md. (AP) — Police in Crisfield are asking that witnesses come forward in a fatal shooting in which a man was struck by bullets 14 times.
    Crisfield Police Chief Michael Tabor asked for information about the shooting early Friday. Officers responding to several 911 calls found the body of 25-year-old Mark Laquan Smith of Salisbury lying in an apartment parking lot next to a vehicle. He had been shot at least 14 times.

    COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — A University of Maryland student was attacked on campus by a man with a baseball bat.
    University police say the attack occurred just before 11 p.m. Friday outside the Stamp Student Union. Police say two students got into a verbal altercation with a passing car.

    CBS Local — A convicted sex offender has been awarded joint custody of the child he fathered after allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.
    In September of 2008, Christopher Mirasolo of Brown City, Michigan allegedly held the victim, her sister, and another girl captive in a vacant house for two days. Mirasolo, who was 18 during the kidnapping, was arrested a month later after the victim discovered she was pregnant.

    BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Nate moves inland with heavy rains and gusty winds after socking the central Gulf Coast.
    Forecasters said Sunday that Nate was about 75 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee. Nate was a hurricane when it washed ashore earlier Sunday along the Mississippi coast.

    HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Authorities in western Maryland say a pedestrian had died after being struck by a vehicle while tending to an injured dog, who has also died.
