• Hogan: More Than 1,000 Blighted Properties Removed In Baltimore

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Gov. Larry Hogan says more than 1,000 blighted, vacant properties have been removed in Baltimore.
    In a partnership with the city, Hogan said Wednesday 1,154 units have been demolished and 32 have been stabilized for a total of 1,186 units of blight removed through the end of fiscal year 2017.
    The governor says as blight has been removed, outreach has continued to ensure redevelopment projects meet and surpass community goals.

  • Cops: Shoplifting Suspect Crashes SUV, Leaves Toddler Son On Road To Die

    TULLYTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A New Jersey man has been jailed on charges he left his 2-year-old son to die after a crash that occurred as he fled from a Philadelphia-area Walmart after allegedly stealing television speakers.
    Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Kuhn, of Hamilton, remained in the Bucks County jail Wednesday on third-degree murder and other charges. There was no attorney listed in court records.

    Eric Nathaniel Sammons pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography on Tuesday. His sentencing is set for January 11, 2018, where he faces up to 40 years in prison.

    Police say Joseph Masilek is wanted for the murder of 68-year-old Robert Breen on Tuesday. Authorities believe Masilek may be driving a gray two-door 2002 Mercury Cougar, with a Maryland tag of 8AYN47

  • Baltimore County Police Say 1,400 Now Have Body-Worn Cameras

    BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore County police say they’ve finished training and equipping about 1,400 officers with body-worn cameras.
    The county began giving officers cameras in July 2016. The initial plan was to roll them out by 2018, but the program was accelerated after criticism related to the fatal police shooting of Korryn Gaines in 2016. The shooting was not recorded on body cameras.
