    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Veolia released their findings into what caused a steam pipe explosion in downtown Baltimore back in June.
    The steam pipe explosion happened on Eutaw Street, between Lombard and Pratt Streets.
    Veolia determined that “abnormal pipe wall thinning,” cause the explosion, and the existing cast iron pipe have been replaced with ductile carbon steel to prevent wall thinning in the future.

  • Bicyclist Dies From Injuries In Hit And Run In Ocean City

    OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — A student from Slovakia has died of injuries she suffered in a hit-and-run crash in a Maryland resort town.
    Ocean City police tell the Daily Times of Salisbury that 21-year-old Veronika Badurova died Sept. 1, two days after the crash.
    Officers say Badurova was hit by an SUV that failed to stop at the scene. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 46-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a garbage truck in east Baltimore Tuesday afternoon, according to Baltimore Police.
    Investigators say at around 2:45 p.m. a Baltimore City garbage truck was going southbound on Milton Avenue at Orleans Street, when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing at the intersection.
