    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Walter Becker, the guitarist, bassist and co-founder of the 1970s rock group Steely Dan, which sold more than 40 million albums and produced such hit singles as “Reelin’ In the Years,” “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” and “Deacon Blues” has died. He was 67.

  • Manny Machado Named AL Player Of The Month For August

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado has been named the American League Player of the Month for August.
    Machado batted .341 with 23 runs scored, six doubles, a triple, 12 home runs, 35 RBI and three stolen bases over 29 August games.
    This is his second career AL Player of the Month Award.
    Giancarlo Stanton won the award for the National League.

  • 2 Killed In Early Morning Crash On I-70

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Two passengers were killed in a single vehicle crash on I-70 early Sunday morning.
    According to Maryland State Police, the crash happened just after 6:45 a.m., near mile marker 66 in New Market.
    The investigation into the crash found that a Ford F-350 was eastbound on I-70, when the driver lost control for unknown reasons.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Baltimore Police Department is searching for two men wanted in connection with a rape that happened Friday night.
    The rape happened on September 1, between 6 and 7:45 p.m., in the 200 block of S. Eaton St. near the 3700 block of Claremont St.
    Police are searching for two suspects in connection with the rape.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A Baltimore Police Department officer was taken to a hospital to be treated for a back injury after responding to an accident on I-83 Sunday morning.
    The multi-vehicle crash happened at 8 a.m., just before Cold Spring Ln. in the southbound lanes.

    NEWARK, Ohio (AP) — A central Ohio county is selling off an assortment of collectible sneakers seized from a convicted drug dealer.
    The Columbus Dispatch reports there are 67 boxes of confiscated footwear up for sale by Licking County officials. Bids will be accepted through Sept. 15 on the website GovDeals.com.     BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood Saturday night.
    The shooting happened at 9:15 p.m., in the 3400 block of Harmony Ct.
    Responding officers found an adult male who had been shot several times.
