    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Baltimore County Police Department is investigating who painted swastikas and other racially biased things on a local school.
    The vandalism occurred at Holabird Middle School, located in the 1700 block of Delvale Ave. in Dundalk, and at another location near the school. Police believe the vandalism happened sometime overnight Thursday.

    CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) — The owner of a medical marijuana dispensary in Cumberland says he hopes to open for business in November.
    The Cumberland Times-News reports that one of three owners of the Allegany Medical Marijuana Dispensary recently gave the newspaper an update on his business.
    Sajal Roy says the dispensary has faced delays due to a lack of approved marijuana growers with available product. He also says he found he needed additional upgrades at the dispensary facility.

  • Retired Major General Faces Rape Charges

    FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) — A retired major general is facing charges he raped a child over a six-year period while on active duty in the 1980s.
    A probable cause hearing was held Saturday in Maryland to review evidence against James J. Grazioplene, of Gainesville, Virginia.
    His attorney, Thomas Pavlinic, says his client is contesting the charges. Pavlinic declined to comment about details in the case at this time.

  • Safety Fence To Be Built In Ocean City

    OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — A median fence will be built along a stretch of Coastal Highway in Ocean City to increase safety for motorists and pedestrians.
    The Maryland State Highway Administration says construction will begin in early October.
    The $7 million project that will be 2.7 miles long is expected to be completed by May 2018.
    Ocean City police say there have been three pedestrian fatalities from 2011 through 2016, including two in 2012 and one last year.

    MILTON, Pa. (AP) — Investigators hope tests on a three-ton hunk of concrete will soon solve the 1989 disappearance of a young mother, by determining whether her remains were fed through wood chipper and then entombed in the basement of a Pennsylvania duplex.
