  • Man Makes Fake Bomb Threat At BWI Airport

    LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a man who falsely claimed he had a bomb inside a carry-on bag at a Maryland airport has been taken into custody.
    The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office said says bomb squad technicians performed an X-ray of the bag at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport early Tuesday and saw what looked like a possible hand grenade device. Deputy State Fire Marshal Bruce Bouch said a robot was deployed and no device was found.

  • Crews Investigate Suspicious Package At BWI Airport

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Several piers at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport have now re-opened after being closed for several hours due to a suspicious package investigation.
    At around 2 a.m., security checkpoints at piers A and B were closed to passengers and employees as the fire marshall investigated a suspcious bag. The checkpoints were re-opened just before 5:30 a.m. after officials cleared the bag and found nothing wrong.
    Some early morning airline flights may be effected by the investigation.
  • 400 Dundalk Homes, Businesses Without Water During Water Valve Repairs

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — More than 400 homes and businesses in Dundalk are without water Monday night after Public Works crews were forced to shut off a water main.
    The 6-inch main located in the 7300 block of Shipway was turned off just before 10 p.m., so crews could conduct water valve repairs.
    There is currently no estimate on how long the repairs will take.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Some boaters in western Maryland are caught off guard by an unexpected sight in the water.
    They saw a bear swimming across Deep Creek Lake.
    It happened late last week.
    The State Department of Natural Resources says if you ever come across a bear, give it space and resist the urge to feed it.
