    GARFIELD, N.J. (AP) — Animal welfare officials say more than two dozen puppies were found inside a hot van parked at a New Jersey store.
    Officials say the 26 English and French bulldogs appeared to be dehydrated when they were found Saturday outside Walmart in Garfield. But they all appear to be doing well now.

  • Burglary Suspect Caught After Jumping Through 3rd Floor Window

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A burglary suspect is now behind bars after police say he jumped through a third floor window to try and get away from police.
    The Annapolis Police Department was called at 4:16 a.m. Sunday, about an incident at a house in the 100 block of Duke of Gloucester Street.
    Responding officers met with a woman who lived there, and she said a man had forced himself inside the home, and was still inside.

    DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Powerball officials say there was no grand prize winner in the latest drawing, meaning one of the nation’s largest lottery jackpots will continue growing.
    Maura McCann of the New Hampshire Lottery says no ticket matched all six numbers following Saturday night’s drawing. The winning numbers are: 17, 19, 39, 43, 68 and Powerball 13.

    BALTIMORE (AP) — Mike Trout and Luis Valbuena each hit two home runs off Kevin Gausman, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 on Saturday night for their eighth win in 10 games.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory has died at age 84, according to his family via social media.
    The Hollywood Reporter says he died Saturday in Washington.
    Gregory used his comedy to attack racism, had movie appearances and even ran for mayor of Chicago in 1967.

    MADRAS, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say two people died in a small plane crash near a central Oregon airport where people are gathering to view the solar eclipse.
    The Central Oregon Emergency Information Network says the pilot and a passenger were killed in the crash about 2 p.m. Saturday about a mile south of Madras Municipal Airport. Authorities did not identify the victims.

    SISTERS, Ore. (AP) — Evacuation orders affecting hundreds of people were issued in California and Oregon as wildfires neared small towns, including one that’s a prime location for viewing the eclipse.
    About 600 residents were told to leave the tourist town of Sisters, Oregon, and authorities said Saturday another 1,000 people had been told to be ready to leave if necessary.
    Sisters is located on the edge of a 70-mile swath of the state where the moon will completely blot out the sun.
