    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The NFL Referees Association announced they will be hiring full-time game officials this season.
    The NFL and the NFLRA agreed to experiment with full-time officials as part of a bargaining agreement. The program will allow current officials to apply to become full-time.
    Full-time officials will be hired at each of the seven officiating positions: referee, umpire, down judge, line judge, back judge, side judge, center judge and field judge.

    BRIDGEVILLE, Del. (AP) — Organizers say a lack of funding could soon squash an annual pumpkin-flinging event in southern Delaware.
    Punkin Chunkin officials say this year’s 32nd edition of the event will go on, but that the organization is struggling.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A Maryland appeals court has tossed out the conviction of a Baltimore County woman in a murder-for-hire case.
    Karla Porter, who is serving life in prison without parole for hiring a hitman to kill her husband, will get a new trial.
    She was found guilty in the death of her husband, William “Ray” Porter, who was shot to death at a Towson gas station in 2010.

    The body was found at 5:45 p.m., in Brewer Creek in Annapolis, just before it empties into the Severn River.
