    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — After a 13-year-old girl was shot and killed in Middle River overnight, police are investigating.
    That girl has been identified as Iyanna Watkins.
    The Baltimore County Police Department says the incident started with a group of people loitering behind the 7-Eleven in the 700 block of Peterson Road.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — An armed robbery suspect is under guard at a Maryland hospital after falling 12 feet into a concrete storm drainage system while trying to elude police.
    This incident began just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, when Maryland State Police troopers were called about an armed robbery at Liberty Gas Station, located in the 20500 block of Jefferson Boulevard, near Hagerstown.

  • Man Gets Life Sentence For Killings Outside Elks Lodge

    CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) — A Maryland man has been sentenced to life in prison for a 2014 shooting outside an Elks Lodge that left two people dead.
    Thirty-three-year-old Terrance Jermaine Brown was sentenced Tuesday to two consecutive life terms for the deaths of 25-year-old LeRon Todd and 28-year-old Ashley Cornish.
    Cornish and Todd were shot in October 2014 outside Dorchester Elks Lodge 223, where a private party was being held.
    Brown himself was shot by another man while fleeing the scene.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Eleven children died from heatstroke in overheated cars in July, making it the deadliest month for child hot-car deaths in almost a decade.
    July is normally the deadliest month for children in hot cars, and the highest death toll was 16 in 1999, meterologist Jan Null of Golden Gate Weather Services told USA Today.

  • Charge: Man Hid Girlfriend In Freezer, Lived With Impostor

    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio prosecutor alleges a man stored his girlfriend’s body in a freezer while another woman helped him and assumed the dead woman’s life by moving into her home, using her credit cards and caring for her dog.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police say they arrested a man who was holding a baby late Monday night, after his girlfriend was stabbed eight times.
    The Aberdeen Police Department was called at 11:35 p.m., about a domestic incident in the 500 block of Plaza Court.
    Responding officers found a woman on the ground with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A government watchdog group in Maryland has released a report on how much it costs to run a campaign for state legislative offices.

    LAUREL, Md. (AP) — A rookie police officer in Maryland is garnering praise for an act of kindness he extended to a woman accused of shoplifting.
