    Funeral Held For Local Navy Sailor Killed On USS Fitzgerald
    BALTIMORE (WJZ) – A funeral was held Friday for the Maryland sailor killed on the USS Fitzgerald last month.
    Friends and family came together to honor local hero Xavier Martin, who made the ultimate sacrifice. He was among the seven sailors killed aboard a navy destroyer when it collided with a cargo ship off the coast of japan in June.
    The cause of the USS Fitzgerald crash remains under investigation.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal collision on Interstate 95 south of Mountain Road in Joppa.
    Police say 66-year-old Joseph Kapinos of Fallston lost control of his vehicle and struck the rear of a tractor trailer. Kapinos was transported to Upper Chesapeake hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
    The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

    Baltimore (WJZ)– Amtrak has resumed regularly scheduled operations at New York Penn Station in time for this morning’s commute after a slow speed derailment with a NJ transit train last night.
    Customers can expect some minor congestion-related delays.
    Amtrak crews worked through the night to assess the damage to the infrastructure, thoroughly inspect the tracks and complete any necessary repairs.
    Amtrak passengers are encouraged to call 1-800-USA-RAIL for additional information.

    GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Utility officials say a snake caused a power outage that left more than 4,000 customers without electricity in northwestern South Carolina.
    Duke Energy spokesman Ryan Mosier told media outlets a snake that crawled into a substation disrupted service and left Greenville County residents in the dark about 5 a.m. Wednesday.
    It took about 90 minutes to completely restore service.
