    Baltimore (AP) — Ubaldo Jimenez was stellar in his first start since May 22, Mark Trumbo homered for the second consecutive day and the Baltimore Orioles beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-5 on Sunday.
    Seth Smith and Trey Mancini homered to start the first and second innings, respectively, for Baltimore. Welington Castillo also had a solo shot in the fifth that gave the Orioles a 7-2 lead.
    Baltimore homered 10 times while winning two of three from the Cardinals to improve to .500 (34-34).

    ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man was fatally shot at his own birthday party.
    Lt. Ryan Olsson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called early Sunday to a home in Orlando where a birthday party was being held for 39-year-old Alexis Osmick.
    According to Olsson, “a disturbance occurred” and shots were fired. Olsson said Osmick suffered a gunshot wound and died at a hospital.

    GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County Police say they are investigating a possible drowning in a Gaithersburg lake.
    Police say they were called to Maple Lake Saturday afternoon after a groundskeeper found personal belongings near the lake.
    Rescue personnel then searched the lake and found a body.
    Police did not release any details about the victim, but said there was no indication of foul play.

    ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (AP) — A 56-year-old man is dead after trying to rescue two teenage girls from an ocean rip current on the North Carolina coast.

    Grand Theft Avocado: 3 Arrested In $300K Avocado Theft
    OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — Police are calling it grand theft avocado.
    Three produce company workers have been arrested in the theft of up to $300,000 worth of avocados, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
    Thirty-eight-year-old Joseph Valenzuela, 28-year-old Carlos Chavez and 30-year-old Rahim Leblanc were each charged with grand theft of fruit and were being held in jail on bail of $250,000 each. They were arrested Wednesday.

    YOKOSUKA, Japan (AP) — The U.S. Navy says the bodies of sailors who went missing in the collision between the USS Fitzgerald and a container ship have been found aboard the stricken destroyer.
