    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Authorities are investigating the cause of death for a body found after a fire at a vacant Baltimore home Monday afternoon.
    The Baltimore City Fire Department was called at 3:30 p.m., about flames showing from a home in the 4600 block of Pall Mall Rd.

    SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Before he leaves for the World Baseball Classic, Manny Machado is making the most of his short time at Baltimore Orioles camp.
    Machado, who was born in Miami, will play shortstop for the Dominican Republic in next month’s WBC, and with the Orioles’ everyday shortstop J.J. Hardy injured, he’s getting to play as much short as he wants before his March 5 departure. He estimates he’ll play six or seven spring training games before the WBC.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Baltimore Orioles traded minor league right-hander Ryan Moseley for left-handed reliever Vidal Nuño with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
    To make 40-man roster space for Nuño, the Orioles designated left-hander T.J. McFarland for assignment.
    The addition of Nuño and the move to designate McFarland keeps the Orioles’ spring training roster at 54 players.

    MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Clyde Stubblefield, a drummer for James Brown who created one of the most widely sampled drum breaks ever, died Saturday. He was 73.
    His wife, Jody Hannon, told The Associated Press that Stubblefield died of kidney failure at a Madison, Wisconsin, hospital around noon. He had been suffering from kidney disease for 10 years, and had been hospitalized for a few days, she said.
