• Local man arrested after fatal collision

  BAKERSFIELD, CA - A local man is behind bars after a fatal crash in southwest Bakersfield Friday night.     It happened just after 10 p.m. Friday on Taft highway, west of Gosford Road.     According to CHP, 30-year-old David Hernandez was driving his vehicle at an unsafe speed when he ran into an unidentified 59-year-old man driving a Dodge Ram waiting at the stop light.     Hernandez then left the scene but was later located and arrested, CHP said.&

• A collision involving a pick-up and a big rig resulted in one killed

  BAKERSFIELD, CA - Law enforcement officials are looking into a fatal crash that happened around 10 p.m. Friday on Bear Mountain Boulevard, near Interstage 5.     According to CHP, that's where a semi truck carrying milk and a pick-up truck crashed.     One person was killed, but CHP could not say if it was someone in the pick-up or in the milk truck.     The crash is still under investigation.     No one was arrested.

  BAKERSFIELD, CA - Law enforcement officials are investigating a fatal collision that happened early Saturday morning.
  The hit-and-run happened just after midnight on Weedpatch Highway, north of Hermosa Road.     According to the CHP, a 63-year-old man was walking north along the right hand shoulder of Weedpatch Highway when he was hit.      That man died at the scene   Officers are still looking for the driver.
