• Local realtor headed to jail for rental scam

  BAKERSFIELD, CA- A local Realtor in rental property scam was sentenced to a year in jail Tuesday.
  
  Jessica Arranaga pleaded no contest last month to obtaining money by false pretenses and conspiracy. Both are felonies.
  
  Arranaga and Ricky Segura Junior were accused of renting out properties by pretending to be legitimate representatives of the property owner.
  
  Arranaga was also given three years probation.

  BAKERSFIELD, CA- A low speed train crash sent a big rig driver to hospital early Tuesday morning.
  
  Just before 1 a.m. Kern County Deputies were called to Norris Road and Manor Street and found a semi-truck that had been pulling an oil tanker had tipped over on its side.

• Dead prostitute found at motel died of asphyxia

  BAKERSFIELD, CA- A woman whose body was discovered inside a motel room in southeast Bakersfield last month died at the hands of another.
  
  The coroner determined 40-year-old Angela Ruth McCall died of asphyxia.
  
  Her death has been ruled a homicide.
  
  Police say McCall was a prostitute.
  
  Her body was found inside the Villa Inn Motel on Union Avenue on February 11.

  BAKERSFIELD, CA- Police say an 86-year-old man fired a gun into the ceiling of his home because he felt threatened by his 62-year-old son.
