    BAKERSFIELD, CA- The California Highway Patrol is getting ready to start accepting applications for new officers.

    The Central Division will be hosting several recruitment seminars to give an overview of the CHP and prepare applicants.

    Information discussed will focus on the Department’s mission, purpose, and objectives as well as the duties of the CHP officer.

    BAKERSFIELD, CA- The prices of gas is creeping back up, now averaging $2.33 a gallon, for unleaded.

    That's a 13 cent hike over the past two weeks and 26 cents over the past month.

    It all started with higher crude oil prices, according to the Lundberg survey.

    Other dynamics are at play including labor strikes at U.S. refineries and an explosion at a California plant.

    Prices are still more than $1.00 less than they were a year ago.
