    AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Central Texas was spared from any severe weather on Thursday as most of the activity started west of I-35 but didn't build into any stronger than heavy showers. Over the last few days of 2024, temperatures will run through a roller coaster with possible record tying or breaking days.TonightTonight will remain calm, mostly clear, and cool with temperatures heading back down into the upper 40s.     AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The severe weather threat is over in Central Texas. Skies will continue to clear this afternoon with high temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds will blow out of the north at 5 to 15 mph, occasionally gusting up to 25 mph.
