  SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Authorities in San Antonio have charged a man with capital murder after the body of his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son was found lying next to him in a hotel room.
  Police say the woman had left her three children in the care of her boyfriend, 32-year-old Michael Arroyo, at a San Antonio hotel Friday evening.

  SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Authorities say a drug deal an 18-year-old in San Antonio had set up on Facebook turned out to be less than social.
  San Antonio police say the teenager was shot and injured around 3 a.m. Saturday as he tried to sell the drugs outside his home after setting up the transaction on the popular social media site.

• From shelter dog to service dog: Grant will change their lives

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — Several shelter dogs will soon become service dogs thanks to a grant awarded to a local nonprofit organization.
  The Petco Foundation donated $340,000 to Service Dogs, Inc., which adopts rescue dogs from shelters and trains them to become service dogs. It’s the largest grant the organization has gotten in their 30 year history.
