• Actress Naya Rivera arrested on charges of domestic battery against husband

    WEST VIRGINIA (KXAN)– Former “Glee” star Naya Rivera was arrested Saturday night for allegedly assaulting her husband, according to a CNN report.
    The report says Rivera, 30 was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery early Sunday following the incident which happened in her husband’s hometown of Chesapeake, West Virginia.

  • Woman tells police she was groped near Pillow Elementary

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police are investigating after a woman says she was groped while walking around the track at Pillow Elementary School  near Steck Avenue and Burnet Road. Police said they received a call about the incident on Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m, but do not have a suspect in custody.

    COLLEGE STATION (KXAN) — Texas A&M has fired head football coach Kevin Sumlin after six seasons. Special teams coach Jeff Banks will be the interim coach for Texas A&M’s bowl game. The Aggies finished the 2017 season with a 7-5 record after Saturday’s loss to LSU.
    Sumlin ends his Aggie tenure 51-26. His best season was 2012 when A&M finished 11-2 ending in a Cotton Bowl win over Oklahoma behind quarterback Johnny Manziel.

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Veteran Hollywood actor Rance Howard, the father of director Ron Howard, died Saturday. He was 89.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Zilker Holiday Tree will be lit tonight in a ceremony celebrating the 51st year of the Austin tradition.
    The tree will be lit at 6 p.m. by the winners of a children’s art contest, sponsored by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department.
