    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Actor Brent Morin joined us on KXAN to talk about his new movie, “The Outdoorsman.”
    The film follows Jason (played by Morin) who has decided to embark on a one-year retreat to the mountain. On this retreat he meets a woman who is on a journey to find herself. As Jason falls in love with her, he is at a crossroads in deciding what kind of live he wants to live.

  • Texas defense halts Baylor to snap skid

    WACO (KXAN) — The Texas defense held Baylor to 31 rushing yards and quarterback Shane Buechele had a solid day for a 38-7 Longhorn win over the Bears.
    Texas safety Deshon Elliott started the scoring with a 43 yard interception return for a touchdown. In total, Texas grabbed three turnovers off Baylor leading to 10 points.

  • Austin police officer involved in crash, suffers minor injuries

    AUSTIN (KXAN)– Austin police say one of their vehicles was involved in a a crash at the Interstate 35 southbound service road near Riverside Drive.
    Police say the officer has been transported to the hospital with minor injuries. All lanes of the southbound frontage road are open except for the westbound Riverside turn lane.

  • Two critically injured, burned in major crash near San Marcos

    HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Two people have been critically injured and burned in a major three-vehicle crash on Staples Road, just southeast of San Marcos.
    One of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames in the 2800 block of Staples Road, near Old Bastrop Road. The two critically injured have been airlifted by medical helicopter to San Antonio, according to San Marcos Hays County EMS.
    A third injured person has been taken to South Austin Medical Center.

  • Man in his 50s hit and killed by vehicle on South Lamar Boulevard

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man has died after being hit and killed by a vehicle on South Lamar Boulevard near Manchaca Road, Friday night.
    Austin-Travis County EMS say they were called to the 3200 block of South Lamar, next to the Broken Spoke dance hall, at 9 p.m.
    Medics were performing CPR on the man in his 50s before he was pronounced dead.
    Drivers should avoid the area. Both directions of South Lamar are closed at the crash scene.

  • Wells Fargo inside east Austin Fiesta Mart robbed

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Officers were called to a bank robbery inside the Fiesta Mart in east Austin Friday evening.
    Austin police say at 6:19. p.m. they responded to the Wells Fargo branch inside the grocery store at 3909 N. I-35 northbound service road, just south of Airport Boulevard.
    No one was injured in the robbery.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — When Hunter Davis was eight weeks old, doctors told his parents to enjoy the time they would have left with him after diagnosing him with spinal muscular atrophy.
    “At that time, they told us to expect three to six months, as Hunter was so weak,” Khrystal Davis, his mother, said.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department graduated another class of firefighters, Friday. But this group is more experienced than most.

    LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — An indoor marijuana grow operation was brought to an end by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.
