    DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas man has admitted in federal court that he participated in a scheme to defraud a military insurance program out of more than $50 million over a two-year period.
    Thirty-eight-year-old Andrew Joseph Baumiller pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to commit health care fraud.
    He admitted his involvement in a conspiracy to defraud Tricare by submitting fraudulent claims for medically unnecessary prescription compounded medications.

  • Federal grant helps San Marcos Fire Department do more than fight fires

    SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) – The San Marcos Fire Department is receiving a federal grant to help purchase cardiac treatment devices for its fire trucks.
    The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awarded the department $332,182 with a match from the city of $33,218 for six LifePak 15 monitors and six Lucas mechanical chest compression systems.     CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WCMH) — A North Carolina monument company is apologizing after it repossessed the grave marker of a 5-year-old boy who died of leukemia.
    “He repossessed it, like it was a car,” Crystal Leatherman told WBTV about the owner of the monument company who repossessed the marker of her son, Jake, who died last year.
