    HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston megachurch led by televangelist Joel Osteen says it’s opened its doors to people seeking shelter as Harvey swamps the city.
    Osteen had faced criticism for not using the massive Lakewood Church as a storm shelter. In a statement to ABC News Monday Osteen said the church “never” closed its doors and was serving as a relief supply distribution center. He said it would “house people once shelters reach capacity.”

    Joe Anthony Robert Sandoval, 29, was initially charged with aggravated assault, which was bumped up to a murder charge when Bryan Longoria died from his injuries.

    The waterway ban was implemented on Saturday, Aug. 26 as the bands from Harvey started dropping rain on Austin.

    ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — A gas valve in a science classroom left open overnight prompted evacuations at a Round Rock school Tuesday morning.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Emergency crews are on scene where a sewer line apparently broke in northwest Austin, sending its contents into the air.
    Around 6:37 a.m. the Austin Fire Department was alerted to what it initially thought was a broken water pipe on Farm to Market Road 620 between Four Points Drive and Zimmerman Lane.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Local hospitals have already taken in evacuees from hospitals near the coast and are preparing to take in more. So far, Seton hospitals in Central Texas have received 28 evacuees.
