• Man shot to death at his Lee County home identified by deputies

  LEE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Texas Rangers and the Lee County sheriff have released the name of the man found shot to death at his home last week.
  The sheriff’s office was called to the home in the 4000 block of County Road 127 — about fives miles north of the town of Ledbetter — at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
  They found 43-year-old Cedro Anton Blue shot and sitting on the back porch. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man who died after a 15-ton slab of concrete fell on him at a southeast Austin construction site has been identified.
  Initial information indicates, Amir Kaman, 49, was delivering a different kind of concrete slab for a garage project when a concrete wall being installed fell over onto the cab of a truck. Two people with knowledge of the site and construction safety say that caused a chain reaction that flipped the slabs that were on the truck’s flatbed onto Kaman.

  Juan Daniel Hernandez, 23, is charged with failure to stop and render aid.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — With dozens of people reported getting sick from a recent Salmonella outbreak, the Centers for Disease Control are urging customers to not eat Maradol papayas from Caraica de Campeche farm in Mexico.

  LOCKHART, Texas (KXAN) — Several police agencies in Central Texas are warning businesses about fake money being passed around.
  In a Facebook post, the Lockhart Police Department said it has seen an increase in counterfeit bills with pink Chinese characters on them. Police say the bills are actually used to train Chinese bank tellers on U.S. currency.

  DALLAS (AP) — A medical examiner has ruled homicide in the death of a 14-year-old girl whose body was found in a North Texas landfill.
  Kaytlynn Cargill had been reported missing in June after she didn’t return to her Bedford home from walking her dog.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — The trial for the man accused of trying to kill a Travis County judge will begin in March of next year.
  Chimene Onyeri is accused of trying to shoot and kill Judge Julie Kocurek outside her home on Nov. 6, 2015.
  Kocurek was wounded by shrapnel when shots were fired. Before the shooting, Onyeri was wanted in Travis County for violating his probation in connection to a case in Kocurek’s courtroom.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — The city of Austin is urging residents to pay attention to notices about road resurfacing projects. Since March, the city has spent around $43,000 towing 975 cars that weren’t moved off of streets where neighbors had been warned the road maintenance projects would be taking place.
