    MANOR, Texas (KXAN) — A driver who ran from the scene of a crash in Manor Friday morning has been arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
    Manor police were called to the 12700 block of Gregg Manor Road, near Manor High School, after a white Mazda traveling southbound on Gregg Manor hit a Dodge Charger in a head-on crash.

    BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — After a fight about, what Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called, an illegal sales tax, the state has backed down after Brownsville city officials repealed their ‘environmental fee’ for plastic bag purchases.
    The $1 fee on the purchase of single-use bags had been in place since January 2016. A.G. Paxton said the fee was in violation of Texas Tax Code and Health and Safety Code laws and filed a lawsuit against the city in Oct. 2016.

    Pecan Springs Elementary School teacher Joseph Melvin was arrested Wednesday. Principal Elaine McKinney says Melvin has been on administrative leave since they received a report of the incident in November.
