    Possible funnel cloud spotted in Point Venture
    TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Chief for Travis County ESD No. 1 believes a funnel cloud touched down in the Point Venture area around 9:30 a.m. Sunday as storms rolled through the area.
    The National Weather Service has not confirmed the tornadic activity but damage was done to several structures in the area. Chief Donnie Norman says no one was injured but a home sustained heavy roof damage.

    Car crashes into utility pole, causing outages in south Austin
    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Parts of south Austin are without power after a car ran into a utility pole Sunday morning.
    Police say the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. on South First Street at Oltorf Street. Drivers in the area should try to take a different route as Austin Energy crews work on repairing the pole.
    Austin Energy’s outage website shows approximately 1,400 customers are without power. Current estimated restoration is around 9:30 a.m.

    DENVER (AP) — A Colorado man who pleaded guilty Friday to killing his estranged wife more than two decades ago recently led authorities to her body, which was buried under the grave of a World War II veteran.
    John Sandoval, 52, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 1995 death of Kristina Tournai-Sandoval.

    Train strikes, kills pedestrian in downtown Austin
    AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Union Pacific train struck and killed a pedestrian in downtown Austin Saturday night, said Austin-Travis County EMS.
    It happened just before 10 p.m. near the 1600 block of West 5th Street.
    When emergency crews arrived, they said it was obvious that the victim, who they said was a man in his 30s, did not survive.
