    WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A multi-vehicle crash had all lanes of US 183 shut down just north of Liberty Hill for a short period of time Tuesday afternoon.

    AUSTIN (NEXSTAR) — The Senate Committee on State Affairs advanced a bill that would cut costs for applying for a gun license by $100 in a unanimous vote Monday afternoon.
    Currently, Texas has one of the highest fees for a gun license in the country. Senate Bill 16 would make it one of the lowest, dropping the price tag on a permit to carry from $140 to just $40 and lowering the license renewal fee from $70 to $40.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Thousands of sexual assault victims are waiting for answers and some Texas lawmakers want to arm them with more information on their cases.
    At last check, DNA evidence in 2,500 cases sit untested in Austin. The majority of those represent sexual assault victims waiting for answers. The backlog began with a 2011 law requiring every kit to be tested, regardless of whether the case will be prosecuted. APD’s DNA lab closure last summer compounded the delays.
