• Driver crashes into utility pole, causes gas leak and runs away

  NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) – Energy crews in New Braunfels spent several hours Sunday morning fixing a gas leak after two women crashed a car, hit a utility pole and left the scene.
  The crash happened around 9:10 a.m. in the 500 block of South Union Avenue.
  Upon arrival, police discovered that the driver of a red Toyota Camry had lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a natural gas line hub and utility pole.

  Austin (KXAN) – Austin police have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing in East Austin Friday night.
  The stabbing happened just after 9 p.m. in the 800 block of East 14th St. where police say upon arrival, they discovered blood all over the victim’s apartment floor.

• Multi-vehicle crash leaves one dead, three others injured

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — One woman and two children were sent to the hospital following a crash early Sunday morning.
  Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the crash at North 183 and Pond Spring Road just after 2 a.m. and involved two vehicles. They say a woman in her 30’s died at the scene.
  Austin police are investigating the crash and advise drivers to avoid the area.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that left one woman dead and four others injured early Sunday morning.
  Officers responded to the crash involving a Chrysler and Jeep around 2:30 a.m. at the NB US 183 and Pond Springs Road exit ramp.
  When Austin-Travis County EMS paramedics arrived, they found the female passenger of the Chrysler dead at the scene.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — Five people are being displaced after a fire damages two apartment buildings in North Austin Saturday night.
  Austin fire crews responded to reports of heavy fire coming from the third floor of a unit at the Walnut Creek Crossing Apartments on Cedar Bend Drive just before 9 p.m.
  AFD says an improperly discarded cigarette from the balcony of the top floor started the fire, which caused $50,000 in damages.

  Austin fire crews responded to reports of heavy fire coming from the third floor of a unit at the Walnut Crossing Apartments on Cedar Bend Drive.

  SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A book of short stories titled “Forty Minutes Late” has been returned to a San Francisco library — 100 years late.
  The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Bay Area resident Webb Johnson returned the book Friday. There was no fine.
  Johnson’s great grandmother had checked it out from the city’s old Fillmore branch in 1917. She passed away a week before the due date, and the Fillmore branch is no longer around.
