    AUSTIN (KXAN/NEXSTAR) – A Texas senator is looking to help patients with debilitating and chronic medical conditions receive cannabis with a doctor’s recommendation.
    Democratic Senator Jose Menendez filed Senate Bill 269 Tuesday morning. Menendez was joined by veterans, doctors and families at the State Capitol.

    AUSTIN (KXAN) – Come February, Austin’s Animal Services Office will launch a pilot program targeted at various neighborhoods in an effort to keep pets in homes as well as reduce the need for Animal Services’ calls in the area.
    Research shows that need is great in East Austin and Del Valle, specifically in the 78724, 78702 and 78617 zip codes. The 2-year, $1.1 million pilot program is funded by a grant from Maddie’s Fund and will include four temporary positions.
