• AFD battles house fire in East Austin

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin firefighters have knocked down a house fire in East Austin Saturday afternoon.
  The fire happened around 3:10 p.m. at the 2900 block of East 14th Street.
  Crews were able to clear the fire from the home just before 3:40 p.m.. No injuries were reported.

  Judge Lauren Parish of the 115th Judicial District Court which serves Upshur and Marion Counties, announced Friday she will be leaving the Republican Party and will now identify as a Democrat.   DEKALB, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi county has had enough of the creepy clown craze, at least until after Halloween.
  Kemper County supervisors this week banned people from wearing any clown costume, mask or makeup in public. The local law carries a $150 penalty, and it will be lifted Nov. 1.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — The man who boarded an AISD bus and claimed to be with the DEA and CIA has been taken into custody. The AISD police chief says the man, John Mikel Humphries, 29, is in the Travis County Jail.
