    Privai Spa and Salon at the Westpost shopping center in Pentagon City appears to have closed its doors.

    Amid a continued elevated number of vehicle thefts, compared to pre-pandemic levels, Arlington County police are giving away free anti-theft devices.
    A pair of upcoming giveaway events will take place on Wednesday, April 17 and Tuesday, April 23 in church parking lots. Police will distribute one steering wheel lock to each vehicle owner who lives in Arlington and shows up to the event, while supplies last.

    On a recent afternoon along a stretch of N. Randolph Street in Ballston, a periodic thump-thump could be heard as drivers run over a series of ruts in the road.
    Some swerve or slow down substantially at an especially deep indentation midway down the 1100 block of N. Randolph Street. This is one of several dips between Washington Blvd and Fairfax Drive resulting from utility cuts during service line replacements.

    Unemployment in DC metro area ticks up
    Unemployment rates in February were slightly higher than a year ago in 247 of the 389 metro areas, including the D.C. metro area.
    The Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Wednesday shows the Washington, D.C. metro unemployment rate in February was 3%, up from 2.8% in January and 2.8% in February 2023. Arlington and Alexandria are included in that region.
    The unemployment rate in Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, Maryland, metro area was 2.8%.
    Metro unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted.
