For Rams’ offensive line, changes keep coming in a rush
THOUSAND OAKS — The Rams have crossed their fingers, sometimes behind their backs, when they’ve talked about their offensive line this season, saying the unit would improve as two newcomers gained experience.
It hasn’t happened as quickly as needed, as the Rams’ 20-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday made clear.
And the chances it will happen soon faded when young guard Joe Noteboom went down with a knee injury early in that game.
With Noteboom out for the year,

Sacramento Snapshot: New California bill would expand hunting and fishing opportunities for sick children
An effort is underway in California to expand opportunities to hunt and fish for youth with life-threatening illnesses or who have lost a parent in service to the state or country.
Sen. Steven Choi, R-Irvine, last week introduced legislation that would task California’s Fish and Game Commission with establishing a program to help these youth access more opportunities to fish and hunt big game or upland or migratory game birds. Examples of upland game birds are pheasant, quail and wild turk

Winter Olympics: Ellie Kam, Danny O’Shea chase historic pairs medal
MILAN — When American pairs skater Danny O’Shea was 10 years old, he sat down and made a list of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.
In 2010, he would be 18. That would be his Olympics, he decided.
    As easy as that, right?
O’Shea has survived two retirements, five partner changes, two coaching changes, a broken foot, multiple surgeries, an eating disorder and a generation gap, before at 35 he made his Olympic debut at the Milano Cortina Games with Ellie Kam.

INGLEWOOD — Kawhi Leonard let the slightest smirk evade the corner of his mouth as he stoically swayed during the player introductions before Sunday’s new-look NBA All-Star Game.
No nod, no wave for his Intuit Dome crowd. Leonard’s silence, a cornerstone of the seven-time All-Star’s personality, is part of what makes the 34-year-old Moreno Valley product a compelling figure in the NBA. But across All-Star Weekend, Leonard made nothing but noise on his name alone.
