La Habra celebrates $9 million park renovation, renames its Vin Scully Centennial Park
A revitalized park in northwest La Habra has experienced a full-circle moment, 65 years in the making.
To understand the journey, it’s necessary to turn the calendar back to La Habra Little League’s opening day festivities in 1960, when a baseball field on the 17.7-acre site was officially named “Vin Scully Field,” and dedicated by the legendary broadcaster himself, who was the guest of honor that day.

Jon Fleischman: Prop. 50 passed in a landslide. Here’s why.
Proposition 50 does exactly what critics warned it would: it has now sidelined California’s independent redistricting commission for congressional seats until 2032, and it has substituted a set of partisan maps designed to flip five Republican-held districts into reliable Democratic seats, while shoring up Democrats in an equal number of competitive seats.
What makes its passage especially striking is that Californians overwhelmingly like the independent commission. According to a Public P

Proposition 50 was a pure political power play. Republicans must respond to this political broadside with proven, effective, and reliable conservative leadership.
