$42M Newport Coast mansion is OC’s most expensive home sale of 2025
A gated Newport Coast estate in the middle of a down-to-the-studs remodel and expansion set a 2025 record sales price for Orange County last week when it traded hands in an off-market deal.
The closing price was $42 million.
That it was mid-construction is “the shocker for everybody” because “the house is basically a shell,” said the seller’s agent, Paul Daftarian of Luxe Real Estate.

Trump’s tax push puts ‘free-market’ label to rest
If you voted for Donald Trump last November because you believed he’d increase economic freedom, it’s safe to say you were fooled. Following a reckless tariff barrage, the White House and its allies are preparing a new wave of tax-code gimmickry that has more in common with progressive social engineering than pro-growth reform. And don’t forget a fiscal recklessness that mirrors the mistakes of the Left.
