    Coronavirus-related hospitalizations appeared to hit their lowest point across California in nearly six weeks on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
    State health officials reported 112 fewer COVID-related hospitalizations on Wednesday, marking the eighth day straight that hospitalizations had declined.
    As of Wednesday, 6,647 people were in hospitals. According to state data reported by the daily tracker, hospitalizations were at 6,812 on July 1.
