    The Orange County Health Care Agency  reported another 710 new cases of the coronavirus as of Friday, July 24.
    The cumulative total number of positive cases for Orange County is 33,358 since local testing began in March. County officials clarified that they may have tested an individual multiple times, but if positive, they are reported as only one case, even if they have duplicate positive test results.

    A rabid bat was found Sunday, July 19, near a store entrance at 131 Katella Ave., in Anaheim.
    The Orange County Health Care Agency on Friday confirmed the bat had tested positive for rabies.
    Last September, a few bats with rabies were found in Anaheim and Orange, and a person reported coming into contact with one.
    The virus is spread to people through bites and, sometimes, scratches by infected animals. Because bats have small teeth, their bites may go unnoticed.

    The Laguna Beach Police Department is investigating an attempt made this week to damage the historic Main Street Bar & Cabaret.
    On Wednesday, July 22, police were notified that several bottles filled with what appeared to be an accelerant were thrown into the popular, longtime gay establishment on South Coast Highway, smashing at least seven windows.
