    The son of basketball and Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was arrested this week on suspicion of stabbing his neighbor in San Clemente during a dispute, Orange County Sheriff’s officials said Friday.
    Adam Abdul-Jabbar, 28, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday, June 9, said department spokeswoman Carrie Braun. He was released that day after posting a $25,000 bail, Braun said.
    It was around 10 p.m. when deputies were called to the 300 block of Calle Guaymas.

    Following center fielder Garrett Mitchell’s first-round pick up by the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday, Holden Powell became the second UCLA player drafted.

    The Angels kicked off Day 2 of the Major League Baseball draft by selecting David Calabrese. The 17-year-old center fielder from St. Elizabeth High School in Ontario, Canada was selected with the Angels’ third-round draft pick, number 83 overall.
    A left-handed hitter with speed (6.88 60-yard dash according to Perfect Game), Calabrese is committed to the University of Arkansas. He’s listed at 5-foot-10, and would add to the Angels’ deep stash of outfield prospects if he signs.

    Employee at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa tests positive for coronavirus
    An on-site manager at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to a news release from the high-rise resort in Cabazon.
    It said the worker doesn’t have symptoms of COVID-19 and doesn’t come in contact with the public.
    The worker interacted with 11 employees who are undergoing COVID-19 testing. Results are pending.
    All 12 workerss have been directed not to return to work until medical professionals confirm they are healthy.

    Kaiser Permanente is starting to re-open medical offices in Orange County that it shuttered in March, when the coronavirus pandemic was expected to swamp local hospitals.
    The company said this week that it reopened its medical office in La Palma to staff, and is preparing to let patients back to other temporarily shuttered local clinics.
