    Former USC QB Jack Sears transfers to San Diego State
    Former USC quarterback Jack Sears has committed to transfer to San Diego State, according to a report from the San Diego Union-Tribune.
    Sears, a former San Clemente standout, announced he would transfer from USC in September before the Trojans’ season opener. Sears had been named the fourth-string quarterback prior to his decision to transfer.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had a fumble that was returned for a touchdown late in the first half and had three more interceptions in the defeat that dropped his team to 5-9 overall, 2-5 at home.     Pedestrian struck and killed in La Habra; driver, suspected of DUI and hit-and-run, is arrested
    A motorist was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving as well as hit-and-run for allegedly striking and killing a woman early Sunday in La Habra.
    The death occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. in the area of Harbor Boulevard, south of La Habra Boulevard, the La Habra Police Department reported.
    Officers arriving at the scene found the pedestrian still in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

    Alleged Anaheim porch pirate takes the ‘bait,’ and cops follow GPS to make the arrest
    ANAHEIM — A 34-year-old man was in custody Saturday on suspicion of stealing a bait package with a GPS locator Anaheim police planted on a doorstep, authorities said.
    Leonard Ramos was arrested about 5 a.m. when he moved the package and activated the GPS tracker, which alerted Anaheim police to his location, Sgt. Shane Carringer said.
    “Officers contacted him on foot and recovered the package,” Carringer said.
