    Former Chapman baseball coach Paul Deese dies; led Panthers to NCAA title in 1968
    Paul Deese, who coached Chapman University’s baseball team to 248 wins and a national championship, died Friday, Jan. 11. He was 79.
    A cause of death has not been disclosed. Services are pending.
    Deese coached the Panthers to the NCAA College Division – now Division II – championship in 1968 and was named the division’s coach of the year that season.
    He coached Chapman from 1964-70 and later from 1982-83.

    Police looking for man suspected of grabbing girls during their walk to school in Anaheim
    Authorities are on the lookout for a man suspected of committing sexual battery against several girls near Savanna High School.
    The Anaheim Police Department said in a press release that the sexual batteries started last week, with the most recent one happening Monday morning in the 2800 block of West Lincoln Avenue.
    In each incident, a man between 20 and 39-years-old approached the girls from behind, grabbed them and then ran away. The man also was described as unshaven, between 5 feet 3 inches
