    FULLERTON — A man was killed Saturday when he was struck by two vehicles on a busy Fullerton street he was trying to cross, authorities said.
    The incident was reported about 5:15 p.m. at Orangethorpe Avenue near Harbor Boulevard, Fullerton police Sgt. Carin Wright said.
    The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Wright said.

    Man struck on freeway in Norwalk after chase from Buena Park
    One of three suspects in an attempted Buena Park heist early Saturday was listed in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle  on the 5 Freeway in Norwalk while allegedly running from police.
    Officers interrupted a burglary in progress at a strip mall on the 7600 block of Knott Avenue at about 4 a.m., which led to a police pursuit into Norwalk, according to a news release from the Buena Park Police Department.
    It said the suspect vehicle stopped in northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway

    PASADENA — Wilton Speight’s final collegiate pass fluttered to the ground. The quarterback dropped his head.
    UCLA’s comeback attempt was over, as was its season.
    In front of 38,391, the smallest announced crowd for a UCLA game since 1997, the Bruins lost their 11th consecutive game to Stanford, falling 49-42 after a late-game comeback came up just short Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
    UCLA fell to 3-9 on the season, its worst record since 1989, and 3-6 in the Pac-12.

    Marina saw a five-point lead dissolve in the final minutes and dropped a 43-41 decision to Rockford (Ill.) Guilford on Friday night in the RPS 205 Tipoff Classic.
    The Vikings led 28-27 entering the fourth quarter and stretched it to 37-32 on six points and an assist by Jakob Alamudun.  But Guilford rallied to tie it 41-41 and won on a steal and a basket in the final five seconds.

    JSerra’s Anthony Grover won the battle but Ryan Smithers and and his Laguna Beach teammates won the war Saturday at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno,
    Grover, the defending state champion, finished first in the Division IV boys race in 15 minutes, 21.8 seconds, six second ahead of Smithers who ran second. But the Breakers, who had set the Division IV record on the Woodward course in October, easily won the team title with 68 points, 29
