    A third person has died as a result of the destructive Woolsey fire still burning through parts of Ventura County, a detective said Wednesday morning.

    After 12 years with the city – eight as its chief executive – Costa Mesa City Manager Tom Hatch was abruptly dismissed from his position Tuesday, Nov. 13.
    After a closed-door discussion prior to its meeting, the City Council announced a 3-2 vote to terminate Hatch’s contract and pay him severance, city spokesman Tony Dodero confirmed. Councilwoman Katrina Foley and Councilman John Stephens voted no.

    After Woolsey fire erupted, impromptu seagoing support team piloted supplies into Malibu

    With police checkpoints preventing access to Malibu, still under mandatory evacuation on Tuesday as the Woolsey fire continued to burn, residents who stayed behind found themselves trapped with no supplies.
    They needed food, water, firefighting gear, first-aid kits and fuel for cars and generators.
