    A woman died after a Santa Ana shooting during the predawn hours of Monday, Nov. 12.
    A caller reported that his friend had been shot near the intersection of West 1st Street and North Pacific Avenue at about 1:40 a.m., according to a news release from the Santa Ana Police Department. It said that, a short time later, an unidentified man delivered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to a nearby hospital, then fled before police arrived.

    Downed power lines caused a fire that scorched two residences in Santa Ana, leaving 14 people without a home for the night on Monday, Nov. 12.
    High winds brought live wires in contact with the trees near two neighboring houses on the 400 block of North Laurel Street, sparking a fire at about 9:04 a.m., according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt.
