    Police are searching for an elderly woman who went missing in La Habra on Saturday afternoon.
    Mary Ann Newkirk, 84, was last seen wearing white and silver, polka-dot shirt with white pants. Police said she was possibly headed to a Ross retail store on West Imperial Highway in La Habra. She was not located there when officers checked the store.
    Newkirk, who has dementia and is in need of medications, went missing at around 1 p.m. Saturday. She lives in the 2200 block of West Canterbury Lane.

    In these days of high school football teams that seem more like college football programs, Valencia is like a rotary telephone.
    Old fashioned.
    It is a community football team. Valencia’s players grew up together. They’ve never thought about transferring.
    Year after year, and decade after decade, really, Valencia plays the same tough, gritty style. The Tigers run the ball a lot, they have a hard-hitting defense, they throw the ball just to spice it up, and they win.
