  • House fire in Silverado Canyon displaces 8; firefighters rescue 2 cats

    SILVERADO CANYON – It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish a house fire in Silverado Canyon Monday afternoon that displaced eight people.
    A back portion of the house in the 29400 block of Silverado Canyon Road was well involved when the blaze was first reported at 12:23 p.m., said Capt. Larry Kurtz of the Orange County Fire Authority.
    A total of 46 firefighters battled the blaze at the remote location. One firefighter had minor injuries, Kurtz said.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The suspect in a quadruple homicide at a Nashville Waffle House was taken into custody Monday, police said.

    Los Angeles radio station KROQ 106.7/FM announced the line-up for its 26th Annual KROQ Weenie Roast via the “Kevin & Bean Show” on Monday morning.
