  • Apartment fire displaces family in Westminster

    WESTMINSTER — Two adults and a child were displaced Sunday by a fire in their Westminster apartment, authorities said.
    The fire was reported at 10:17 p.m. in a downstairs unit of a two-story building in the 13000 block of Illinois Street, the Orange County Fire Authority said.
    Firefighters put out the flames in less than 10 minutes but the three residents were displaced by smoke damage in their apartment, the OCFA said.
    No injuries were reported.

    LONG BEACH — A 51-year-old woman was stabbed to death Sunday in the Cambodia Town area of Long Beach, authorities said.

    MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR — The identities of four Marines killed when their CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter crashed near El Centro, near the Mexican border, this week were confirmed by military officials Thursday, April 5.
